User Requirement Specification
A properly written URS helps the supplier or vendor to fully understand the client’s requirements. This, in turn, helps the supplier design a system or specialized equipment that completely satisfies needs and expectations. Alternatively, if there is no URS, it can create confusion between both parties blaming each other for failures resulting in the waste of time and resources.
Generic Specifications
A lot of equipment in the food and drink industry can be classified as 'generic equipment'. This can be stand alone items like a box packer, a pump, an oven or a palletising robot. In many instances the supplier will present you with their standard contract. For most of these we have generic specifications that can be shared with you. These aim to protect the interests of the client that often are omitted from the standard contract document offered by the supplier
